Assimilation Committee

KUMC’s Assimilation Committee works to formulate the intentional process to engage the membership in discipleship and service. The committee works to foster an environment of love and acceptance as well as a guest friendly physical plant at KUMC. They help to assimilate and connect church goers into the fellowship of the church.

Specific activities of the committee include planning and coordinating fellowship dinners, “mugging” (gifting) our first time guests, reviewing the web and bulletin for outdated information, maintaining the Happenings web page, coordinating the “adopt a bed” ministry, Divine (fellowship) dinners, and conducting an annual campus “first impressions” tour to suggest facility and other campus improvements.

Over the years, the committee has recommended and coordinated the following projects with the Trustees Committee toward our goal of creating a guest friendly physical plant:

  • Faceted glass in the sanctuary windows
  • Remodeling the narthex bathrooms
  • New campus signs
  • Adopt-a-flower bed ministry
  • Visual screens around A/C units
